Since the Greenwich Line Users’ group was formed in 2012 we’ve regularly appeared in the local and rail industry media. Some recent coverage is shown below.
In October 2020 the Greenwich Society published in its newsletter a report from us on railway matters
In April 2019 the Greenwich Society newsletter printed a report on the work of the Users’ Group.
In June 2018 a local paper, the News Shopper, ran a prominent story about the chaos on the Greenwich Line following the botched introduction of Thameslink trains
In May and June 2017 the Westcombe Society and its Westcombe News newspaper reported on GLUG’s response to the franchise proposals from the Department for Transport, and the proposed Thameslink service.
In April 2017 we featured in the Greenwich Visitor newspaper, alerting local residents, and visitors, to the problems ahead for anyone wanting to get to and from Greenwich by train if the franchise proposals proceed. The same issue carried a brief article from GLUG on the building of the railway to Greenwich.
In March 2017 the Greenwich Society newsletter carried a front page report from GLUG on proposed new services
In March 2015, the News Shopper carried a report on GLUG’s reaction to a “traffic light” system introduced by Southeastern indicating which trains are overcrowded.
